0.0 GENERAL DESCRIPTION
0.1. This FLM is a performance, spec class series that combines a ‘single make’ carbon laminated body with a Plafit SLP2 chassis and minimal modifications.
0.2. The objective of the class is to develop close racing on an affordable
platform and as a feeder series to the Open European Prototype Series.
1.0 MODIFICATIONS
1.1 It is not permitted to modify the homologated Formula Lemans carbon
laminated body in any way.
1.2 The Slotfabrik FLM carbon set including H-plate, body mounts and spring
plate w guide holder may be used. Available June 2010. Part number tba.
1.3 Parts of free make are restricted to:
(i) nuts, bolts, spacers and washers
(ii) the guide and guide nut
(ii) braid, braid clips & lead wires
(iv) axles
(v) axle bearings
(vi) ballast lead weights
(vii) wheel inserts
(viii) spur and pinion gear
2.0 WEIGHTS and MEASUREMENTS
2.1. The minimum weight for a complete FLM car is 180g.
2.2. The minimum weight for the body with the body mounts and fixing screws
attached is 30g.
2.3. The ground clearance will be measured under the entire RTR car with the
guide out of play so that all four wheels sit flat on the tech block.
2.4. The ground clearance at the start of every race is never less than 1.00mm
2.5. The ground clearance during or at the end of any race is never less than
0.40mm.
3.0 MOTOR, GEAR AND PINION
3.1. The handout motor will be the sealed Plafit Fox II motor with original
Plafit markings on the motor can clearly visible and unaltered.
3.2. The production batch numbers printed on the motor can must be matched for
major competitions.
3.3. Soldering may only be used to attached the lead wires to the motor
terminals.
3.4. Motor coolers or heat dissipating products of any kind are not permitted.
3.5. Only M50 pitch pinion and spur gears are permitted.
3.6. The ratio is fixed or open at the discretion of the Race Organizers.
3.7. Differential gearing is not allowed.
4.0 CHASSIS
4.1. Only the Plafit SLP2 chassis for 13D motors is permitted. Part. No. PF1800SLPJ or PF1800KSLP.
4.2. The chassis must be assembled with screws and/or nuts and bolts using the
original mounting holes.
4.3. The chassis must be assembled in the exact manner and orientation as deemed
by the manufacturer.
4.4. The chassis plates may be flat sanded to remove burrs, sharp edges and
swelling.
4.5. The original mounting holes can be re-countersunk to properly seat the
screws.
4.6. The original Plafit logo on the bottom face of the main chassis plate must
remain visible to the Technical Control.
4.7. The original chassis plates, parts and metal body holders can not be
repainted or refinished in any way.
4.8. The lenght of the guide blace can not exceed 27,0 mm and this guide blade
is the only part of the chassis that may enter the track's slot.
4.9. No part of the chassis may be visible when viewing the car from above.
5.0 AXLES & BEARINGS & WHEELS
5.1. Only solid steel 3 mm diameter axles front and rear are permitted. No
independent front axle configurations of any kind are permitted.
5.2. Ball bearings for 3mm axles are permitted.
5.3. Front wheels must be RTR Scaleauto SC 2715P with a minimum outside diameter
of 26,5mm and a minimum width of 8,0mm.
5.4. Each front wheel must make 6,0mm of contact with the tech block with the
guide out of play. Front tires may be hardened and polished.
5.5. Rear wheels are handout RTR Scaleauto SC 2421 ProComp 3 wheels with 27,5mm
OD, 13.0mm wide.
5.6. Rear tires may not under any circumstances be treated with any kind of tyre
dressing, compound or product.
5.7. Removing dirt, dust and loose rubber particles from the tyres may only be
performed with a tape roll provided by the Race Direction.
5.8. All four wheels must be fitted with three-dimensional wheel inserts correct
to the car.
5.9. The wheels may not protrude outside of the body when viewed from above.
6.0 BODY & INTERIOR
6.1. The only body permitted is the homologated, carbon laminated FLM body. Official supplier announcement pending.
6.2. Only one body is allowed to be used for the duration of the race.
6.3. Body must be painted and decaled to include the FLM number shields and main
sponsor decals.
6.4. The body must include an interior and driver as supplied with the official
homologated FLM body kit.
6.5. The interior and driver must be painted.
8.0 REPAIRS
9.1. Following repairs must be carried out within 5 laps from when the damage
first occurred :
(a) replacing or refitting the interior or driver’s head
(b) replacing or refitting the rear wing
(c) replacing or refitting the wheel insert(s)
(d) if any part of the car other then the guide and wheels is touching and/or
risking damage to the track.
(e) all repairs must be carried out under green and during racing time.
